About this Interview
An interview with Mrs. Emily Sunstein, who helped establish the Organization for the Reform of Democratic politics, both in Montgomery County and within the city, and served as a committeeman for the organization. She describes her role as an active active member of Americans for Democratic Action, and goes in depth about the involvement of suburbanites in the reformation of local government.
Biographical / Historical Note
Walter M. Phillips, Sr. (1912-1985) was active in Philadelphia civic and political life for over thirty years. He worked and volunteered in a variety of city and regional organizations. After retiring, Phillips initiated an oral history project, interviewing in the 1970s many individuals with whom he had worked.
